Monk strike + kick question

I'm pretty sure back in classic EQ that Monks could do both a kick and a strike as they were on different timers. I remember this because after using only Tiger Claw for several levels, I was surprised to find out that I could also use Round Kick as they were both on different cooldown timers.

When I got Tiger Claw, I added it to my hotbar, but found that Round Kick shared the same timer. Same with Kick. I looked into this, but it seems some people say Tiger Claw is on a different timer, but others say Tiger Claw replaces Round Kick.

Are the P99 servers different, or am I really mis-remembering?

You are probably mixing it up with the TLP servers or EQ live where this is possible. This was not added to Everquest until 'recently' (like 5 or so years ago).

I guess I am just misremembering from back in the early 2000s. Not sure what TLP means, though...I'm assuming you mean the Live Sony servers?
