Shaman Epic Faction

I have a level 60 Torpor Shaman returning after a hiatus and would like to get my epic. Before I quit playing I started the epic quest and have killed the Black Dire (and prior steps). I have collected all the parts necessary to do one combine in the CoM but someone suggested there may be quicker ways to raise my faction. Any suggestions?

Yes, there is a quick way to get your max ally.

Its been a while since I did it...but you basically want to do this:

1. Find a Druid friend

2. Both of you bind near the Bondl Felligan Drunken Shaman in N Freeport

3. Druid ports you to Butcher

4. You run over to the pirate camp and pull Peg Leg back to the druid ring, kill Peg Leg, talk to the spirit doggo and get the gem.

5. Both of you gate back to freeport, turn in the gem.

6. Druid starts casting port as you're doing turn in, lesser spirit doggo will still be there when you port back, talk to him again to receive another gem, immediately gate back.

7. Repeat this as many times as possible while the doggo is there at the ring (think you can get 3-4 turn ins depending on how quick your druid is w/ ports). After he's despawned, just go bring Peg Leg back to the druid ring and do it all over again.

Its cheesy, boring, and is a cheap short cut to doing the epic...but its by far the fastest way to max ally. If you don't have a druid buddy, I'm sure you could hire one. If you've already done Black Dire your faction is probably off to a good start anyway...should only be an hour or two I'd think. Just make sure you hit max ally.

Newb question piggy backing off of this - but does one need to actually "do" the shaman epic? Or can you just grind faction like this (or another way) and then do the final turn in either buying loot rights to tear and doing final fight or buying loot rights to iksar scale and just turning it in?

You can skip 95% of the quest, grind the faction, loot the Iksar Scale and just turn it in.

After doing what was suggested above my last turn in said "Your faction standing with True Spirit could not possibly get any better". Does that mean that I could get away with skipping Part 7 - The Three Books of Lord Ghiosk and go straight to Step 8? Step 7 seems to be just another faction building thing

I truly hope they fix this on Green.

I don't see how you can justify nerfing Siren's Grotto (which everyone glitched through well into Planes of Power) and the millions of other "exploit fixes" here ... and not fix one of the most iconic quests in the entire game.

No one ... or virtually no one at least ... got their epic during the classic period via rezzing and turning in gems to Bondl.
