Default Question for Texture People: Is This "Hole" Fixable?

This helm has a giant hole in the middle of it:

My question is, if I were to install one of those nifty texture enhancement packages, would it/could it fix this? Or is this just a limit of the game/model?

It's not the model. From what I understand, the skin is using a colour for that area which is also set to be transparent.

Texture patches should fix it, I think there is even a tool to do it.

Maybe this? https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...ht=Transparent

It's possible, just weather someone did it or not yet. Gotta extract the file from s3d usually, modify and inject back into s3d usually.

Back in the day they use to use a Pink color and kinda a Chroma technique to cause transparency so it would interfere with other textures (I assume this is what is going on..)
