![]() I decided to give red a try even though it seems mostly dead. Not sure what my plans are but the idea of +50% exp gain and having most zones all to myself is oddly appealing. I've also never tried pvp in eq so even though the population is super low I thought it might be fun to have a go at it on red.
I have a couple questions. Are there any guilds that still exist there? I'm not necessarily looking for any help, but some occasional guild chat might be nice. Maybe some guild would like having an additional porter around? Also, I seem to remember pvp servers being divided along good/evil race lines with certain groups controlling access to certain areas. Never actually played on any of them so I don't know how accurate that is. Is there anything like that on red? Finally, I rolled a druid mostly to be self-sufficient but do groups ever form at all? I heard there is a juicy xp bonus for additional group members. Is there a chance of somebody levelling an alt letting me tag along? Any advice for a new player on red would be greatly appreciated.

![]() Yes there are guilds and druids should always be useful afaik for pvp [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
There is no hard-coded good vs evil but. However i believe there is a fairly regular war going on now? Mostly at the high end levels but im sure they have some spicy alt fights occasionally? Both teams probably think they are the "Good team" and would likely give you a spot in their ranks eventually if they think you are a pretty cool player and cool dude or dudette. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Unfortunately i cant answer your questions that specifically but you'll probably get some excellent answers here within a few days. Red isnt for the faint of heart or if you expect it to be like blue/green and can be super rewarding. Some of this may be a bit wrong so feel free to flame me if so! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Buckle up and have fun! There is always plenty of room to mostly stay solo on Red99 too if you prefer that w alts or W/E

![]() There are no teams on red 99 only guilds.
Type /w all and send tells to ransoms in guilds and ask these questions. Forum questers don’t play much. As you can see from the population, expect a ghost town. You should join whatever guild you find and play the game with people if possible, since it’s not supposed to be a solo game and it breaks my heart seeing places like DL, FM, KC, LOIO all empty when they used to have like 100 pop or more on live at all times. We can only dream of those days of fighting for single sarnaks while enjoying the truly terrible exp that those zones had. Anyways yeah just find people online and talk to them.

![]() My advice is to not play on red and just do green or whatever. Pvp is truly dead and prob will have more fun with hundreds of folks compared to a dozen.
Do what you want tho. | ||

![]() Advice: don't turn on /anon unless you are in a group of experienced players that prefer being anon.
Sometimes a helpful player will come along to buff or maybe even drop some newbie trash on you. Sometimes someone will come to put an end to your playtime wherever you are at. 90/10 mostly, but the sooner you experience a good face stomping, the sooner you will understand what Red can do to your playtime. It takes a while, but once you meet people and start leveling up things get pretty good. If you can get a static group of 2-3 people in any decent group, Red is very fun. Embrace the rags. You will eventually attract a couple of other players to join you on their 324th alt. If you are chill they might invite you along. If you prone to berging out, well plenty of that on Red so maybe ok.

![]() You are on red:
Always use /anon Always camp out when going afk Bank obsessively When mega twinks come, play an alt for a bit till they leave. Never trust anyone with payment after port, always get paid first and in gems/items

![]() I understand the idea that PvP could be fun and stuff, but the Red server should be avoided at all costs. The players there are horribly toxic and the only enjoyment they get anymore is griefing and nothing more. Ruining your gaming experience is more important than anything else to them and it shows. I've tried a handful of times to play on Red and it always ends the same way. Save yourself the time and trouble and play on Blue or Green. At this point Blue is nearly empty in leveling zones if you're interested in that empty aspect. The only saving grace about Red is that you can take pleasure knowing all the people who desperately want a new Red server will never get one
