Default Updating???

Hello,

Its been a good year since I've played P99.
I have everything still installed like it was the last time I played, but it would
seem I need to update my files.

I don't know how to do that for P99, could someone help explain how I can do that please?

Download the Project 1999 Files (V45) and overwrite your current files with them

Default Trying to Update but I can't figure it out

So I'm struggling to update Project 1999.

I've downloaded the V53 Files and when I extract it to EverQuest Project 1999 nothing happens.

I've tried deleting the old files V47 and still no luck.

What am i doing wrong?

I'm pretty terrible with computer so I'm sure it is user error.

Looking for any advice/suggestions other than do a clean install.

Thanks for the help!

Antivirus could be stopping it, there have been some false positive malware incidents. Try turning off your antivirus for 15 mins. also, if you are using windows 10, is your everquest directory in the root of c, or in program files?

I Moved everquest from the Program Files to the C Drive and the game now works! The settings are very different in terms of layout. Is this from the new update or do I just need to change my settings? or is it possible I forgot to move some files?

Thanks again for your reply!

they reverted the layout from sort of delux velious era to the standard of launch in 1999 to mimic the original feel, so if you were used to blue like a year ago, this will definitely be less convenient. I get an error about my layout every time I log in, but it still works.

If you had been previously running the game in program files then your UI files are in your user folder under c:\users\<username>\appdata - you can move them from there into your new EQ directory.
