Given enough time, we'll have a string of deaths from somebody selling printed guns to people on the street and there will be panic legislation. Probably something on the order of making possession/assembling of them on the order of building a pipebomb, or filing a serial number off of a real gun. FBI starts stinging people for having the specs, snooping on people etc because we have no personal rights any more.

It won't be related to the larger gun debate I'd wager, except as a passing novelty.

Knives are deadlier than plastic bullcrap. Until materials technology advances significantly, they're a non-issue.

Nobody cares about how dangerous something is, only how dangerous it feels. And a gun that some dude can print in their basement feels like a very dangerous new thing to people in general, where knives are... knives.

Gun manufacturers are waiting for cases where 3d printed guns misfire and kill their user, so 'big gunny' can lobby for legislation/manufacturing standards against 3d printed guns as they are 'too dangerous'.

Tulsi Gabbard announced that she will not seek re-election to Congress in 2020 in order to focus on her presidential campaign.

Gabbard’s decision is also likely to stoke speculation that she is considering mounting a third-party presidential campaign, especially amid her high-profile clash over the past week with Hillary Clinton. The former secretary of State has suggested that Russian operatives are “grooming her to be the third-party candidate,” remarks which provoked a fierce rebuke from Gabbard and a defense of the Democratic candidate by President Trump.
