Works all the time. This is why you see enchanters buying specific -10MR and proc weapons for charm pets. You kill them afterwards and loot items back for reuse.

after some discussion with GMs, decided its not a good idea to spread all the loot out at once. who knows when server will go down. so i'm going to do one or two per day and give some clues. be ready, the first one will happen within the hour.
