Close EQ (all the way, aka no eqgame.exe running)
Open a command prompt (google it if you don't know) Type ipconfig /flushdns , hit enter Retry. Fails? ipconfig /release && ipconfig /renew ->hit enter -> let it do its thang, give it a min -> retry Fails? Open a web browser after the above steps and close it. -> Retry Fails? Reboot, retry. Else? Patience :P or try doing it in order, smart guy. You can also try restarting Window DNS services, not interested in Googling these for your specific version of Windows either but the truth is out there... Sometimes and with other games like League of Legends or even Rift, I noticed that generating a little HTTP traffic after clearing DNS cache or resetting your IP works. I don't know the 1's and 0's cuz I'm usually too busy playing after...

Try all the steps dawg.
do a taskkill /im eqgame.exe /f That should nail any lingering EQ shits hiding in the back ground if there are any. Otherwise, word is bond with list above. Unplugging modem for 2mins, plugging back in and chilling another 2mins before trying anything might work too. Sometimes its just goofball ISP related.. nothing you can really do there, even if you call em on specifics like this.

I like the way you try and blame the end user for the an obvious server problem. Any chance you work for Cisco?
I would spend time troubleshooting the problem on my end, if it didn't happen to at least 20 other people on these forums and who knows how many more that don't post here. All within the last hour.

I'm not saying its YOU personally. I'm saying it could be ISP or data center related.
And in that case, you can submit a case with the ISP (data center will ask for your badge ID or something) and the resolution will be just as fast as if you had just waited. I'm trying to supply some ideas that work in my general experience, sorry if it didn't work for you dawg.

I think this is actually very widespread right now. I don't suggest logging out if you're in right now :P for the time being.
