Maybe see if it is still broke once you get meditate at level 8? Not saying it's not a bug or anything, just saying that there are many issues with the server and client communicating with one another when it comes to HP and mana.......Perhaps until you get meditate, it's just confused....

I notised the same but not everytime, respawn with 75% mana, gnome necro, but haven't seen it happen at lev 5 when I died, (I am currently lev 5)
