Default Western Wastes spawn issues

So I've been trying to spawn Tantor/Stronghorn for a few days now, and I believe there are a few issues with how WW spawns work. I'll break these concerns down into 3 main categories:

(1) Too few animals: This morning, all I could find on a druid were 4 animals (rhinos). No mastadons, no wolves. It's possible I missed some. This is because of how the spawn works: the animals share a spawn table with various wyverns. Because no one kills the wyverns, and because there are far fewer server resets vs. live, the animals are slowly being eradicated based on probability. This was certainly not intended, as many forum posts talk about WW as the ideal druid charm leveling spot in velious.

Solution: Reset WW more frequently, or switch wyverns and animals to independent spawn tables.

(2) Too many ice burrowers: It's possible that they are on the same spawn table as the animals based upon how I have seen them jump to the top of the track list in the past few days. A previous post states that they are on different spawn tables on live.

Regardless, there are too many of them. Some anecdotes I have found state that there are only 3-4 up at a time , but this might be because they were more frequently hunted at that time. In any case, there must be over 20 in WW right now on Red. This might be because, like the Wyverns, they are on the same spawn table as animals and are infrequently hunted. A lot of people in previous posts here have noted that they don't recall seeing this many ice burrowers.

Solution: Move to seperate spawn table, or more frequent zone resets, or if they are on a seperate spawn table reduce the spawns

(3) Ice Burrower silks
I've killed about 8 ice burrowers and never seen one. I might just be unlcky. Anecdotes from 2003-2005 suggests a drop rate of 30%-60%, with a tendency to drop 2x silks (http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/show...Silk-drop-rate). It sounds like it shares a spawn table later with ice burrower meat, so that pre-POP the drop rate should be higher.

Solution: check loot table and make sure i'm just cursed and unlucky

Need a patch for silk to begin dropping.

I definitely agree with you on the other points.

Animals should be on their own table not including burrower and Wyverns. As it stands, animals get charmed and killed in the zone and the longer the zone stays up the more their population is depleted. Before the last reset the entire zone had a total of 0 animals excluding burrowers.

This is worse now on red. Three total animals up lastnight. Only 1 wolf.

I think once the server gets updated and the silks start dropping that this problem should go away. At the moment the burrowers are a giant pain in the ass and a waste of time to kill, once the silk drops they should be killed more often as the tailored items have good resists
