Default starting stats for new wood elf rogue

I've gone through a number of threads on rogue races and starting stats. At the end, I think most agree that it's a safe bet to put them into str or sta, perhaps more so on sta because it's the hardest to raise through gears where as str is relatively easier.

Now question, if I plan to level the rogue to 60 and have him raid ready, is it a good idea to dump all starting stats into sta? At lvl 60, I believe 30 sta is projected to be around 100hp?

I am asking because wood elf starts with 65 str, and most likely after I finish gearing him, he will have stuff like ragebringer, full ss, +6 neck, hiero cloak, belt of great turtle, fingerbone hoop, etc, and end up having 175 str.

So 175 str, even after lvl 60 shaman buffs wont reach 255. Will that be a problem?

What am I missing here? I am sticking with wood elf for the look, so I will not consider other races like barbarian or halfing who have better starting stats.

I know the poop sockers will say STA, but 65 STR is a low starting point.

On my dwarf Rogue I think I capped out STR at level 60 or something...and every single piece of my gear had a high amount of STR on it.

Granted, he's not totally decked out in high-end raid items, but still..

I say pump that STR up a bit. It'll help as you level up to 60. You'll cap STR sooner and you can look to replace some STR gear with +HP items or something.

90% of the time you'll be attacking the mob, 10% getting hit. Invest in offense, imo

All into str so you can put some more hp / res gear on at 60 instead of str gear. 0 hp = 0 dps.

I have a wood elf rogue and I put everything into strength. I'll probably never do any serious raiding so having the strength seems way more impactful to me. If you are serious about the end game then sure go all stamina, but 99+% of the people who play here never make it to that point.

I never regreted 25 STR / 5 STA on Cecily. I got her... decently geared in Velious stuff before my guild sold out to the ultra neckbeards and was just approaching overcapping STR. When you have too much str, you just refocus your priorities.

15 STR / 15 STA is a great compromise, Imo.

As a wood elf I’d dump into strength. By 60 with raid buffs it’s unlikely that loading stamina start stats would be the deciding factor that saves you from a death.

Having pathetic starting strength on the other hand will make you that much less effective your entire time leveling. Str/Focus stack and high end gear fixes this in the long run but the road to 60 is long and even at 60 you won’t always have a pocket shaman to fully buff you.

Wait... what?

Focus is 67 strength, Maniacal Strength is 68, for a combined +135
VP hammer stacks with that for + 20
Potions stack with that for another +25
Bards stack with all that.

Raid-rogues are #1 target of Avatar for the +100 attack to make backstabs hit. Which also comes with +100 str that stacks with focus and most of the other stuff. Loramin has a guide on Buff Lines for strength stacking.

Even just Focus + Potion should put you at 175 + 67 + 25 = 267

If you were at like, negative 30 strength a Shaman could still max you out.

Sorry. Tanget. As to the original post/concern - Stamina much harder to buff, but there is a lot to be said for having high Str with resist gear on. Enough shammys and druids in the mid thru high game to keep you nice n toasty with strength. If a rogue having 120 more HP determines something, something else probably went bad.
