Default Why does some fletching look like arrow shafts?

I just found out that certain types of fletchings appear to have graphics that look like arrow shafts.

Is there a historical or material reason for this? I found it very interesting.

Thumbs up

sounds like you're talking about vanes. They "look" like arrow shafts. Round / Parabolic / Shield fletching look like regular fletching.

Vanes are solid, where as fletching is usually some type of feather. prolly the reason for the different images.
