this is the only way i'd be able to get my friend who got me into it back in the day to play again. He doesn't have the attention span for PVE

Red 2.0 is the highest forum quest goal of this decade. Stand strong men and your endurance will be rewarded. We quested hard for red 1.0 and have been questing hard for 2.0 since before velious launched. It will happen.

straight red or teams? whats the consensus on this after all these boxes

good: Erollisi Marr, Mithaniel Marr, Rodcet Nife, Quellious, Tunare
evil: Bertoxxulous, Cazic Thule, Innoruuk, Rallos Zek
neutral: Brell Serilis, Bristlebane, Karana, Prexus, Solusek Ro, The Tribunal, Veeshan.

means:
no corpse summon (and no necro/sk obviously) anywhere but evil
no neut monks
no good shamans
no evil pallies

you could open up deities for neutral monks and good shamans. maybe you could do necros neut, why not...

wonderin if teams could work or if you always just end up with 1 team dominating

Vallon/tallon zek style race based teams but hardcoded to prevent cross teaming.

Remove common tongue and prevent players from learning opposing team languags.

+/- 4 level range.

The only thing staff talked about a long long time ago was a custom 2 teams solution that sounded fun but not classic. Might have been. Like Freeport vs neriak or something like that.

I don't think any of the classic teams servers work well because of significant racial imbalance in favor of ogres. Maybe give Barb fsi too.

Who knows. I'd go classic rallos if it was up to me. Custom shit if they follow through sounds fun but we don't have a good track record of that here. Red launched like "that's the rules we decided in a vacuum they're never gonna change go fuck yourself" and we watched the pop plummet.
