No. Nationalism in almost all instances has implied that true citizens belong to a certain ideal social, ethnic, or religious group. So I'm not implying it, Nationalism implies it.

Calling yourself a Nationalist implies you believe that there is a select group that should be considered a citizen of that nation while excluding other people.

If your nationalism is post-scriptive as in 'Everyone who is already American is American' rather than pre-scriptive as in 'Only people of a certain group within our country are true citizens' then you're not a nationalist in concept, but by basic definition and is therefore irrelevant. Making that distiction is only confusing and creates controversy. Like claiming to be 'gay' and then clarifying 'oh no, I meant happy'.

It's like saying all forms of Communism are Stalinist.

No conservatives want gun control no matter how you explain it. Democrats currently support a dangerous leftist agenda no matter what the fuck you were trying to say ( that didn't make sense )
