Default 52 Paladin looking for gear better than Enchanted Dwarven Plate set.

Hey all, my 52 pally got a full set a Enchanted Dwarven plate set.
Is it possible to upgrade this armor with 2k only ?
I don’t know much about Velious, what are the pieces I should try to look for ? I heard about Thugardin quests. Are there some pieces I can get on my own / with a single group since I’m not guilded.
Are there also good pieces for pallies that can by crafted since Velious came out ?

Thanks !

You can single group the plate cycle to get the no-drop armor pieces. But you'll need to either group a lot or spend a lot of coin on the Gems to complete the quests.

I still use a full set of Imbued Dwarven plate on my 58 pally. It's a solid set. But that's mainly because I'm too lazy/cheap to work on the set.

I checked Thugardin set : it has a bit more AC but less STR and STA than the enchanted dwarven Plate set (besides the BP), not much of an upgrade I think.

The Enchanted/Imbued Dwarven plate has WIS, in addition to the other stats.

Not really, no.

All of the Thurgadin quest armor, as well as the necessary gems for it, is single groupable--although few people do it that way since it's slow. Thurgadin quest armor is an upgrade over Dwarven cultural plate for the helm, chest, and leg slots. In theory you can obtain the gems and corroded armor for free; in practice most folks end up spending some platinum.

Non-set items that might be worth a look include things like silver chitin wristbands, barbed dragonscale boots, etc. If you want to try to camp for items you had best have friends who like doing Velketor's and Kael Drakkel.

But with third armor a dwarf can have a can opener for a helm!!!

You can also consider trying to obtain http://wiki.project1999.com/Righteous_Armor instead of thug armor. No quest turn ins for it but requires a raid force.
