Going back and reading the first few posts, people like this scare me. Creating multiple names and talking back and forth to himself. Its really creepy if you think about it. This guy really did fly over the cookoo's nest.

7.62x39 is your standard soviet small arms round, mainly used in AK 47.
7.62x54 is just a standard .30-06 round. Maybe he meant to refer to the 7.62x54R, which is the round fired from the old Russian Mosin Nagant bolt action rifle (still a great rifle, IMO).
