Football - the sport where being out of shape to the point of having a 20 year less life expectancy is a good thing.

"For linemen, perhaps due to their size, the life expectancy is 52."

I like that you brought him up. Alot of phins fans can't stand the fact that the staff keeps allowing him to start. Personally I like that they do, last year he did horrid (I can admit that) but to be honest I don't blame him for that, he played half a season in 2009 where the Dolphins passed the ball 30% of the time (He did VERY well during this time). The next season we got a new offensive coordinator and they expected him to go from a 30% passing scheme to a 80% passing game.....ofcourse he was overwhelmed......

All that said this is the year he needs to make a stand and come out of his shell, for the first time the other players are actually backing him.....this speaks volumes to me as they obviously see more of him then we do.

This will be Henne's 4th year......if you check the stats of Manning or Brady you will see that they were on the verge of being flops until they had breakout 4th years....Henne needs to do the same or I see the Dolphins quickly benching him and looking elsewhere.

Id also like to point out that tho I compared him to Manning/Brady I think it's asking alittle much to expect him to reach that lvl, however I do think he can be a solid QB for the Dolphins if he can just steady his play~

Edit: I don't know if any of you caught the Pre-season game between the Phins and the Falcons but.....Julio Jones the rookie WR for the Falcons shows every sign of being a REAL threat...........he was breaking away from people with little to no effort~

One of the biggest Falcons fans you'll meet, at least outside of GA.

Yeah, he's gonna have to deliver this year, too. They gave up a metric fuckton of draftpicks to get him. Can't believe the Falcons haven't done anything major to shore up the defense, namely the front 7.

lol what is your definition of "out of shape"?

I guarantee any one of those "out of shape" players could out do any physical activity you try.

it may be that these players already had a poor life expectancy due to their size and other genetic factors and indeed perhaps the fitness they gain through football increases their life expectancy.

Fucking hate it when the media writes stupid shit like this without any real evidence of causation

I actually like Chad Henne too. The year that he did pass well Miami never threw the ball they just worked their two back system to death. Can't remember if that was the year Ronnie Brown got hurt or not but him and Williams were each getting like 15+ carries a game.

There have been a lot of studies done on the unhealthiness of professional football. The players are a lot larger than they were thirty years ago, and are hitting much harder. Shit causes brain damage dawg.
