I have a question. Considering there are only around 1000 active players at prime time, how come there are apparently so many IP exemption requests?

Is it due to people wanting to roll new characters on fresh accounts? Due to large numbers of people sharing account info / playing communally? I don't understand.

I think both times I made IP exemptions was in preparedness for p1999 LAN parties.
Are IP exemptions not permanent? I was under the impression that you filed for one once, got it or didn't, and then that was it. Or did you file multiple ones because it was going to be more than one additional connection because of the LAN party?

I've been thinking about getting so me and my RL friend can play together the five or six times a year he comes through town. But if I would have to file each time, and hope it's granted in time, not sure it would work lol.

I think I had to do it the second time because I filled up my first account with toons, so I made two more accounts.

Perhaps people just keep filling accounts (or do only 1 character per account) and as such keep making new IP requests?

I guess the best advice would be to get the ip exemption on as many of you and your friends accounts as you can, just in the off chance any of you ever play with each other?

Ya we play a lot over distance as we live a few hundred miles apart. But we would like to be able to play in person when he visits. As of now we just console game it up or play other things on our computers. So it's not a big deal. Was just kind of curious how it worked.
