When a quest mob despawns on a turn in does it wipe their memory cleanÉ

On retail if you were really nervous about a Quest NPC having odd 'leftover' quest turn in items from someone else, and you were paranoid your item turn in(s) would be screwed, it was common practice to trade the NPC a single flask of water to 'prime' the NPC so all objects given would be deleted and reset for them. Then you could trade your crap in with a sense of confidence.

I have no clue if that works here or not. It should because it's classic.

Multiquesting here makes use of global variables. Even if an NPC is killed, the quest variables remain intact until the zone comes down.

If you give them something else here it makes no difference, and I'm not entirely convinced that was anything more than superstition in the first place.
