I've been unable to play for nearly a week due to either an "unknown error" or a "timeout has occurred."

I've done the typical fixes (updated eqhost.txt) & restarted computer to no avail.

Thoughts?

Rule out an issue with your ISP by attempting to connect via a hotspot or vpn.

Here on West Coast (so cal) on 1Gig fiber from Frontier, never had issues until recently. Developed a ton of crashes and dced, on zones, logging in, switching toons ect. Makes porting impossible.

Today I'm testing with a NordVPN acct, running it as 'dedicated IP' so far no crashes.

Also been running my game in XP SP3 mode and reinstalled the game as well as the patches, even tried another computer and hard drive. Zero changes.

Will report back as testing goes.

So far no crashes or lag outs, multiple character switches, many zones!

Just logged out, never had one crash running the VPN. Have a feeling this is an ISP related lag/disconnect & crash vs a client end software related crash.
