Default Best Rogue Discipline?

I'm fairly new to p99, just started 5 months ago after not playing EQ since 2003ish. I decided to make a rogue from a fresh start. On my quest to 60 I kept hearing people telling me to wait til you get Duelist at 59 for massive dps. I hit 59 a week or so ago and while Duelist is nice I cant help but feel a little underwhelmed at the parses. Is there a consensus on the best discipline to use? It seems I miss alot of backstabs with Duelist leading me to wonder if Deadeye isn't just better with the longer cooldown. I'm curious on other rogue perspectives?

Duelist. It's not just about backstabs. With Bard song, you're pretty much maxed haste, unless I'm forgetting something since it's been a while since I played rogue. The cool down doesn't really matter much since there's usually plenty of time between the kind of mobs you'd use it on anyway. But I might just be talking out of my butt too.

Duelist is where it is at.

I parsed almost everything while raiding and would certainly see the difference (especially when we only had 2 to 3 rogues max) in dps when any of us fired of duelist.

From a grouping perspective there are probably not many instances it would make a big difference while grinding exp mobs, aside from the need to take out a named or a mob quickly.

No mention of Kinesthetics? I've never parsed the same fight with the different disciplines, and I've always used Duelist since that's what other rogues always used... but Kin allows double attack and dual wield attack on each combat round which greatly increases the amount of auto attacks for 18 seconds, seems almost as good as Duelist in my head.

Offensive discipline? Is it a 32khp Kunark dragon? Deadeye/Duelist. If not, I'm saving it for Nimble. That slight dps bump isn't going to make or break a Velious fight.
