For about 5 years there was a complete set of the core books at my local half price books and I never got around to buying it till it was gone. I might have to hit up ebay for a set.

I have most of the books, even ran a few games. Sadly none of my players were EQ players so it was just another D&D setting to them. Rules wise it is mostly 3.0 D&D with EQ classes, races, spells and a mana system. The stuff is very combat oriented as a result and lacks a lot of the more flavorful spells of D&D. The Bard rules are amazing though and way better than any official Bard in 3.0, 3.5 or Pathfinder.
Lots of great lore tidbits too that come from the developer bible and aren't found elsewhere.

I recently purchased the first book and I have to say it is completely awesome. The first 20 pages are just norrath lore. 140 pages of races/classes and a bulk of the book is dedicated to spells (200+ pages). There are ton of neat pictures and lore tid bits along with example characters for reach race/class. Combat is close to dnd.

I just bought all 3.
I've run a lot of 4e and 5e campaigns and im heavily into using roll20.net and big production. I might try to craft my own hybrid with this.
