Illusion Halfling (size incorrect?)

I was on my enchanter and for some reason casting this spell makes you a gnome sized halfling, and not a halfling sized halfling? I then asked a buddy who has a Desiccated Halfling Mask, and he was smaller than a normal sized halfling too! Is this intended?

Using any illusion on an actual halfling and then removing it makes you gnome-sized as well.

That would allow me to more easily get into the Hole, rather than halfling finnaggle my way in.
