Never read it but loved All the Pretty Horses. His writing style is incredibly terse, but so descriptive at the same time. That book will break your heart.

I've also read The Road, which catapulted me into acute depression, and No Country for Old Men.
No Country is a lot more similar to Blood Meridian. I loved No Country. Agreed about his writing style. There's this scene in Blood Meridian, where, for the past 3 chapters, he's been using tiny sentences and curt language. THen suddenly an Apache warband pops up from the side of horses and it's one sentence that goes the whole page and just fucks your brain in the best way Guess it's time to read All the Pretty Horses. | ||

I loved The Road and No Country. I tried Blood Meridian a while ago and couldn't get into but maybe I'll give it a second chance. You have to be in the right mood for McCarthy.

Yeah I definitely picked that up. Reading g BM actually incepted me into starting to read the old testament. The nondualist God who is above concepts of good and evil experiencing the most violent human nature... That's what the judge was to me
