My point was, although classic, it presents a huge imbalance. Examples:
Hoops - cheap to recharge, could spam for lots of damage/heal back... They properly took care of this Mallets - how basically every warrior or raid engage occurs to lock aggro since warrior snap aggro blows Root Nets - yea cause allowing everyone to get multiple charges of instant cast root for relatively cheaply is fair! WC Hat - yep instant gate for everyone for relatively cheap also a great idea... Puppet strings - letting everyone charm a level 50 mob was a greaaaat idea. Only 90 plat per charge, NP if you get a few early breaks not gonna break the bank. Red wood wand - more or less free leveling anywhere near a merchant? Etc.

Nerfing vendor recharging would be so gamechanging around here, lol.

If you aren't going to remove item recharge, at least up the costs a bit. If puppet strings were 2-3k to buy back instead of 400, things would be a lot more balanced for example. Like I think rez sticks are 2M or something to buy back Haynar, hence Rakpartha's comment. Alternatively, making them all have the same cast time as the normal spells would help a lot too.

Mallets aren't terrible to force your raiders to get or -50dkp even without recharging. Stuff like bladestopper and reapers of the dead would be big losses though, as would being able to recharge shaman potions instead of buying new ones. Nets would probably be the biggest overall loss maybe? This is just, bottom line, the classic mechanics vs. classic experience argument. Do we want classic mechanics even though modern players will take advantage of them in ways that players in 2000 were largely oblivious to? Or do we want a classic experience at the loss of all the quirky mechanics we know and love? Staff sometimes go one way, sometimes go the other. /shrug | |||
