I also remember this from classic. Think it was 2:1 ratio in the desert

If it helps, then I started playing EverQuest the day Kunark was released. So faster consumption I would have noted early in the game's life.

See page 1, I posted a bunch of evidence from classic and kunark (maybe velious?) era. It looks like you are correct, I have filed a bug report to get it added hopefully.

Maybe its in my head now, but I know for a fact it existed on Live during launch (causes thats really the only time I played EQ on live).

I think we should bring it back.

Can confirm, as I was around at the launch of classic EQ back in the day.

Fondly remember cursing myself on my old Dark Elf Necro, because I'd get all the way out to N Ro or Oasis and realize I didn't bring any water and have to trek all the way back to Neriak to pick some water up because none of the human vendors around would sell to me.

Many-a-time did the Madmen in the desert provide life-saving water when I needed it though in a pinch, although they parted with it very reluctantly.
