Lavastorm/Nektulos music

So I just reinstalled in preparation for Green on a new laptop, and I'm curious how to get Lavastorm's music working properly ala classic. I tried googling but just found a post by someone who definitely did not have English as his first language. I'd also like to fix Nektulos so it plays the Lavastorm cue as you approach the zone.

Does no one know the solution to this?

I don't know it from a technical standpoint. However there IS some sort of solution because the original lavastorm music plays on the wife's computer, while the post-era modern lavastorm music plays on mine. I don't know what changed between the two computers to cause that, but its existence proves it can be done.
