Exclamation Windows Application Error

Sorry if this has been posted in the forums already, but I scanned through them, and didn't see anything like it. After installing Titanium edition of EverQuest, and modifying everything as per the instructions say, when I attempt to open up the shortcut I am getting the following error:

The exception unknown software exception (0xc00000005) occured in the application at location 0x1000f0ce. Click OK to terminate the program.

I've attempted running it under different compatabilities, as well as under and not under an administrator.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Running Vista.

I found that changing the mode under compatability at least allowed me to start up the game. Changed to 640x480 = worked.

Now, however, when I click to play any server, the game crashes out with the same error.

Any ideas?

Alright. Sorry for the multiple posts. So I have figured out through tweeking with the compatability and resolution, to actually get past the server select screen. However, when I do actually get to the character screen I am seeing what this guy was seeing: (thumbnail in the post)

It's nothing more than a picture of a human named "Newbie". No options are available on the screen. No nothing.
