Communism is a hit!
Historically communism begins with a process identical to the kind of looting and pillaging you see in any societal collapse. Communism as a political movement is distinguished from generic societal collapse, because it invents some form of government that allows looting and pillaging to become broad-based social, economic, and legal policy.
