First though I'd triple-check that I had logged into the correct account (because I've "lost" characters by logging into the wrong account before).

Also, and I know this seems like a silly suggestion, make sure you logged into the right server. I have drunkenly stumbled into P99 Red wondering why all my shit was gone.
