Cant take credit, got it off these boards years ago. The pauses are to account for connection (my ping is 40) so the client is forced to count the steps and only time it isn't amazing is when fighting giant groups (selects the closest) or fighting over a corpse if the corpse is closer then the mobs. For what it's worth, none of this is classic at all. Taking melee damage should interrupt the bind wound. Thorough evidence was posted in bugs before green launched, but nothing was done about it.

Spells like the monk epic or SK lifetap will cancel your bindwound. You'll need to do that before you start binding.
