In theory it would be something to make players band up against a zerg.

But it wouldn't work, players never band together even when outnumbered things like ego, greed, stupidity, etc, make players join the zerg rather than fight it.

Even on Sullon my own guild TOW were such bitches they would try to make deals with Hate and Ruin rather than fight them. Meanwhile they could have rallied other newts, but all they wanted was dem lootz.
