Default PBAE Cast Consumes Mana, No Hit or Resist

Hey there,

This bug has been driving me crazy and adds a bit of unnecessary stress while quading. It is not uncommon for the pbae to cast, Circle of Fotrce i.e., consume the mana cost, yet not hit or be resisted on the mobs. This is also not a LOS or interrupt issue (hence the mana consumption). I haven't parced it, but it seems to occur probably every fourth or fifth quad. That is quite frequent imo. I have noticed this in both Rathe Mountains and FV so far. Another pbae Ive notice affected is Column of Lightning.

Please let me know if there is other info you need!

You keep saying PBAE. (Point blank area of effect) Which implies a purple background on the spell and you need to be in melee range for the spell to hit. Otherwise it will appear like it did nothing.

Do you mean to say Targeted AE? A green background limited to 4-5 targets?

Some additional info:

I still encounter this frequently, and in LoIO this time. I've noticed a clue as to what may be causing it, and it requires unfortunate timing. The landscape geometry. The triangular/pyramid-esque bits of ground that make the landscape more believable seems to cause this. Should your target AE hit the quad at seemingly the precise moment it is on the top of the landscape geometry, the spell will consume mana and not hit. It seems as though the client is deciding between the mobs being in LOS or not, and doesn't decide in time whether to continue or interrupt the spell so the client kind-of does a bit of both hehe.

I have been able to avoid encountering this problem entirely while quading on completely flat landscapes. The landscape geometry seems to certainly be a factor in this bug.

This has also been a problem in OOT at seafuries. It seems to almost debunk my landscape geometry theory from before, as the geometry is quite triangular on this island and the no-hit seems to occur quite rarely as compared to other zones I have quadded in. One might think that I possibly quadded the group slightly in to the shoreline and lost hit due to water, but I made certain this is not the case by quadding well inland on the isle.

BTW, not pretending to make this seem urgent by carrying on. Just an annoying minor bug I've been encountering. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

This problem is happening to me too. I would cast my Lightning Strike, mana would be spent for it, but no resist/hit. Quadding on flat land so no los issues.
