Default Equivalent to Banded for Newbie Monks?

I just started up an Iksar for the first time and chose to play a monk. I'm essentially starting fresh with this character, since I don't have anything suited for a monk on my main, so I'm wondering if there's a newbie armor/weapons for monks that I should be saving/questing for.

I've done the Curscale quests so far, and that's better than straight cloth, but is there anything equivalent to what banded is for other melees that I can be saving for? Also weapons: I'm currently using a couple 1hb weapons bought off merchants in FOB.

Clarification: I'm not expecting to run to EC anytime soon (I would have to save up stuff to sell first) so is there anything in Kunark to look for?

Cured silk armor is a good place to start, and you can farm spiderlings in the caves north of the newbie area of the field of bone.

https://wiki.project1999.com/Curscale_Armor_Quest

I expanded the Experience reward, It's actually better exp to do this quest than normal mob killing & The Pit.

Plus you get some okay light weight armor.

Cured Silk Armor is good but it's very difficult for a newb iksay monk to farm that much spider silk. There is more spiderling silk in the area. This includes the spider crypt.

To be honest, crag spiders in EK are the best source of spider silk, so it's far away from FoB.
crag spiders are decent exp 22-27 for those who care. Melee may want to start at 24.

If you want to hunt crag spiders use a caster or arrows. Their poison is nasty for melee.

Its called cloth

Then cured silk and wu's

Crystalline silk for elite pvp scrub monks on vintage rallos zek

Monks are not supposed to need much gear, and they really don't. Focus on your weapons and get random gear as you can find it.
