Default Dark Elf Emissaries and Lesser Faydark Camp

The Innoruuk Symbol questline was introduced with Kunark/Apr 2000. This appears to be flagged correctly on P99, but there are a couple accompanying changes that should be flagged similarly.

It seems two emissaries were added, one to Grobb and one to East Freeport, which offer a breadcrumb quest for Innoruuk-worshipping troll shamans and human clerics to increase their faction with the Priests of Innoruuk and complete their symbol. The quest is known to give a significant amount of faction and does so on P99.

- Savarixsa Zexus - Grobb
- Saxarivza Zaxun - East Freeport

From Dolalin's collection we see these two NPCs do not appear in the eqic.net zone dump dated to the late Classic era, but they do appear in the fictitiousname9 dump from mid-Kunark.

A walkthrough from tokyo2001.com recalls the addition of Saxarivza in East Freeport:
Quote:
最近久しぶりにFPの地下NECギルドに戻ったところ、なんだか見なれない人物がいたので、話しかけたらQ uestが始まりました。
Saxarivza ZexusなるD-ELF姉ちゃんです。

From Google Translate:
Recently, when I returned to the underground NEC guild in FP for the first time in a long time, I saw a person I didn't recognize, so I talked to him and the quest started. I'm a D-ELF sister named Saxarivza Zexus.
The poster speculates that the purpose of this quest is to increase faction to begin the first Symbol (Initiate) quest:
Quote:
これはNeriakの「Initiate of Innoruuk」が受けられない人(Faction?)でも実行できるようです。
これでFaction上げて行けばNeriakのQuestが受けられるようになるかも。

From Google Translate:
This is for those who cannot receive Neriak's "Initiate of Innoruuk" (Faction?) It seems that it can be done even with. If you go up the Faction with this, you may be able to receive Neriak's Quest.
A Dec 1999 Everlore post asks for SK quests in Freeport with a relevant comment from Apr 2000:
Quote:

There is a Dark-elf SK in the basement of the guild who asks you to deliver a note to her brother in Neriak at the Spires of Innoruuk... I have not completed this quest yet but I imagine it is the first in a line of quests. Any info on this one?
The Grobb variant of the quest was added to EQLizer by May 10, 2000.

A capture of Allakhazam's quest page dated May 23, 2000 marks the Grobb variant ("Innoruuk Initiation") as NEW.

As I recall, these two NPCs were in-game from the beginning of P99 Green.

-----

The Dark Elf camp in Lesser Faydark was empty until May 2000, after the introduction of the Innoruuk Symbol questline. This posed a problem for completing the quest.

EQMaps
- Another map of Lesser Faydark shows an empty camp. Date unknown, but likely before Oct1999 given no mention of Shadowed Men at the Ancient Temple in the southeast of the map.

This description of the Regent Symbol quest on Allakhazam mentions the change:
Quote:
Travel to Lesser Faydark to what used to be an abandoned camp (loc -900, 1155) and give the crate to Dragoon Szorn.

Yes, but the quest is broken. I've been working on it myself.

First they had the Initiate Symbol of Innoruuk, AC 2, WIS 1, mana 3,
effect of Weaken. Easy quest, just turn in 4 woven grass amulets from the
halfling druids in Nek.

Next came the Disciple Symbol of Innoruuk, AC 4, WIS 2, INT 1, mana 7,
effect of Siphon Strength. I have this one now. Slightly more involved
quest, but fun and easy. Completable by a level 18 I would guess. Might
need a group.

The Regent Symbol, however, is another story. When they first added the
quest, the guy would tell you to go to the Dark Elf camp in Lesser Faydark
to deliver some provisions. Of course, the DE camp didn't exist until
Tuesday's patch.
Now it does, but the NPC, Dragoon Szorn, is broken. You
hand him the crate, and he gives you exp and the rest of the quest but no
"Receipt of Provisions". The rest of the quest, which involves killing a
High Elf in the Steamfont, is completable by a level 35 solo, though it
would be a tough fight. This gets you the other 2 items. You turn them,
the disiciple symbol, and the receipt in to get the regent symbol. But of
course, you can't get the receipt.

The guy who posted it on Allakhazam's got a GM to give it to him
somehow.

And keep in mind, it is Innoruuk-worshippers only.
. . .
Given the date of the post, "Tuesday's patch" would presumably refer to the patch on May 16, 2000 which includes this general message:
Quote:
* Many quests have been updated and/or fixed, both in terms of ease of completion and reward.
On P99 Green, if memory serves, the camp was populated from the start with Teir`Dal Elites, Teir`Dal Prophets, and Priestess Llandra. Dragoon Szorn was absent until Apr2000.

-----

To be changed
- The Dark Elf camp at (-900, 1155) in Lesser Faydark should be empty until May 2000.
- Savarixsa Zexus and Saxarivza Zaxun should be flagged for April 2000.
