Can you really call classic on GM service? I'm not sure that's a great idea :\

Yes Aussie, very classic.. Like having a GM move your corpse out of Hate, or Fear, because you're too lazy to go break the plane yourself. Very Classic.

Thanks.

Yay to the denial of restoring corpses lost due to server error (/sarcasm).
I don't know what the GMs' actual reason is for not restoring corpses, this is purely speculative, but my guess is it's too difficult/impossible to do a mass restore of sky keys, because can you imagine having to dig through the logs to find confirmation for every single key piece for every single person who's going to lose their corpse? Considering some of these keys are two years old, and considering everyone has 8 keys, it's not exactly easy to verify. They can't just look and see, has this person EVER given Sirran a bird whistle? Because maybe they gave him one a year and a half ago, kept the key for six months, then lost the corpse and had to give him another. They'd have to dig a lot more closely than they would to see if you've ever had an epic. And they'd have to do it about 12,000 times because people also keep alts keyed.

Again, that might not be the actual reason, but I have a feeling it is. Being a GM takes up enough of these peoples' time, we can't reasonably expect them to spend a week digging through logs for key corpses.

Yea, it's far easier for the GM's to restore a Maestro lute than a bunch of sky keys

I've never been a guide or GM, so I'm not aware what all it entails. However, I had figured it would be the same as summoning a decayed corpse.

Not looking for the items to magically appear, just for a corpse retrieval for a corpse that should not have rotted. That is done all the time for corpses with a ton of gear on them.

Not to mention, the technology is in the game for expired corpses to appear (I.e. Shadowrest). They don't just get wiped out of existence forever.

Doesn't seem like just making a corpse reappear that rotted due to fault of the server is outside of the realm of reason.

yeah no logs need to be looked at for a decayed corpse, they just get moved somewhere under the world or something. a guide here restored a corpse for me that was a year+ old in less than 15seconds

However, it really isn't that big of a deal if the GMs just don't want to mess with it. I'd much rather they fixed other things with their time, such as Rogue Hide/Sneak (though I'm pretty sure I read that devs that would mess with coding and guides/GMs that would assist with a corpse retrieval are separate...)

Aussie/Eunomia helped out our guild on Monday in Sky. Appreciate the time you guys spent, huge pain if everyone had lost their keys.
