Default Warrior pulling?

I have my class choice narrowed down to warrior, wiz or cleric.

I really want to play warrior but I am not a huge fan of pulling. I realize sometimes you are just going to have to, but should it be a deal breaker for me playing this class?

I really enjoy tanking but pulling, especially in dungeons gets tedious.

There are better classes for pulling like bards and monks so you'll just want to try to group with them when you can. Or else you'll find that you will want to pull just to make tanking easier for yourself.

Not sure why pulling would be a deal breaker, but being that there are many other classes that pull "better" than a warrior, I would think you wouldn't be doing it often.

It's not uncommon to pull on a Warrior while leveling, especially once a camp is broken and you're just grabbing mobs as they spawn. Basically, if your group doesn't have a Monk, SK, Bard, Paladin or Ranger, you will probably be expected to pull. I would not play a Warrior if you really, really hate pulling. But you're probably fine if you just prefer not to most of the time.

In vanilla i think warriors are going to be pulling a lot more then in Kunark/Velious. I played a warrior as an alt in real 99/00 and i remember having to pull a bunch, especially in dungeons like Solb...sometimes i didnt have to pull like when we had a monk or someone else that knew the pulling better. Like it came with the class, u basically went into the group expecting to pull stuff but hoping that the group had someone else to pull, lol.

You'll probably end up pulling often in vanilla, but that will disappear almost entirely in Kunark and Velious. That being said, camps are likely to be a lot smaller on Green for at least the foreseeable future, so it shouldn't be nearly as active a role as it is on Blue. If you absolutely don't want to pull, pick the Wizard or the Cleric.

Not only are warriors the easisest pullers in vanilla they are also the most effective.

You don't need to worry about anything complicated, just walk into a crowded room, throw in an axe, or maybe even just give a dirty look before returning to the trap set at your camp

Using this technique your pulls will be worth typically 3-5 times the xp of that of a monk or ranger, and you'll get much better value out of your groups CCer.

Generally on blue, i wouldn't want my tank leaving camp; i'd want him fed a steady stream of mobs. On green the battles are longer and you may actually have downtime instead of continuous pulls so i think you are right to be worried about tanks being roped into pulling.

Word of warning on the wizard: some players will remember it has eye of zomm and may ask the wizard to pull (being able to med while pulling is pretty handy). Players may want you to take an active role in cc, roots, pulls, stuns cos otherwise you might not be able to accomplish much.

main difference is more what you are best at doing...you can pull, but in most group set ups after lvl 20 there is someone better at pulling than you in the group in most situations (monk, bard, ranger, even some casters, etc) and you are better at tanking...

So you can pull if your grp needs you to, but you won't be doing that job for most of the grind hours. If you want your grind to be primarily pulling you don't want to go warrior.

... having the tank pull prevents chain pulling. Very inefficient.
