I play a necro too and I had so much fun playing necro/ench/cleric. Actually that was how I got 59-60, Necro charm is better than it gets credit for.
It was real nice to have the dps of two mobs versus the hp of one mob of similar stats. But to keep your pets I in my experience you NEED a cleric. When you buff a level 50 mob he is around 6k hp, it's just too mana and time to patch heal these monsters up to full.

If I was starting with two friends on a new server, I'd go Monk/Enc/Cleric. All three classes in that trio are immensely fun to play and you can level very quickly 1-60 with charmed pet DPS. Once you get there, you can do just about anything easier than than the Chardok Royals.

Monk , Shaman , Enchanter
With that setup the Monk can tank pretty much anything, good dps with monk / chanter pet. Shaman heals are good enough cause the Chanter has low hp's, the monk will have the mobs he tanks slowed, plus regen will always be up. Monk pulls are obviously good and if they got popped on the chanter can handle it. | ||
