Christ, I went to those forums last night just to check them out. The drama! That first guy having a meltdown from angry PMs and abandoning years of work. The glacial pace of development. Beta tests every two years. Still nothing remotely playable. And you could see the forum progression, so many posts and then petering out and petering out and now it's just people like you checking in saying hi.

I don't think anyone there realistically expects this to progress and are probably just waiting for the final this is it post from that last guy working on it. Still, the amount of posts and community there, makes me sad it's going to die after all that time.

Looking at some youtube video with classic era EQ the other day, there's some comment like "soon you will be able to play Everquest like this again! Google EQClassic!" The comment was seven years old.

Thing is about EQClassic. They could launch a Full on open beta, Just fix bugs as they come in, It's playable.

Then do Progression style. But for some reason refuse. I even made a post about it here

And was met with condescension by staff and forum goers.

Even in the IRC, Harakiri would be condescending when people ask questions, Saying things like "I dont know why I typed all that out, When people cant just read it. Laziness" (Actual quote)

I have given up on EQClassic. But I would love to see the team behind P99 do a Trilogy client.

The blue population complains every time they try to put something classic on your server. Why would the devs want to go thru that again and have to reverse it?

Can´t login into beta, says spell_us.txt is out of date. i have the latest patch etc. any have this issue ?

Which patch are you using? Should be 50g
