I find it interesting that people flocked toward this server with the idea that port stones were bad for the game partly because it limited interactions. And even further limited interactions by adding the bazaar.

And now we see all these comments about PoP being the best thing EVER. It makes me increasingly happy we will never have to group with cats. And as much of a pain in the ass that is to find a port sometimes, im also glad there will never be port stones.

Back to the OP though, the 10th ring war is just a fantastic encounter. I only got to do it a couple times on live.

ToFS is a great zone, eyepatch of plunder. Some of the things I'm looking forward to.

First off I don't raid anymore and have no problems with TMO. Second, you being in TMO really don't think your still going to have most of the content on lockdown like you guys do now (again I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with that)? I'm just making an observation that you guys are doing a pretty good job getting the majority of targets now are you saying you won't be able to keep this up because of Velious?

Hug, my comment was more to the fact of the raid targets, how progression worked, the itemization, aa's, etc. I liked always having soo much to work on for my characters. I liked the grandmaster crafting items, and I'm sure there is a TON more I am forgetting.

I was not a big fan of the bazaar, I hated the portal stones in Luclin.

NO he means TMO will still dominate but other guilds will get opportunities at lower tier raid mobs like Classic/Kunark stuff and probably Vindicator at some point.

I don't forsee TMO raiding skyshrine much. I may be wrong but IIRC anything that drops in that zone (note I'm referring to the drops from the mobs not the quests) has clicky effects you can more easily obtain elsewhere or is strictly inferior to equipment you would find from raiding WToV/NToV. The only exception I can think of offhand is completing the Tormax quest involving Yelinak's head.

This leads to another question. With 3 highly contested raid encounters also being involved with hand-ins for high tier quests, won't all this FTE bullshit we have going on this server muck things up a ton?

All of the expansions had their good and their bad. Kunark had legendary dungeons, but the outdoor zones were huge areas full of nothing and navigating the continent was a nightmare. And the whole problem with the level cap making the grind ridiculous and trivializing older content. Iksars were cool, though.

Velious was probably the most solid expansion, the biggest problem is that there was nothing for you to really to do there before 40-50 or so. And the fact that Velious made a similar mistake with gear upgrades that Kunark made with raising the level cap. You had to essentially get to the end of Luclin to even consider replacing Vulak loot and even then you were most likely going to lose AC.

The biggest problem with Luclin is that it tried to be "well rounded" and provide content for everyone (as opposed to Velious which was aimed at higher levels), but only the higher level content was any good. Way too many useless zones like that desert I can't even remember the name of. Vah Shir were kinda silly, and they tried to attract lower levels to places like Paludal through insane zone experience modifiers instead of actually making the zones interesting in the first place. Also they tried to tamper too much with the core of the game by introducing the gross graphics updates and the bazaar, which most classic purists didn't like (but were forced to use due to horses and the EC tunnel becoming deserted). Ssra Temple was worth the price of admission alone, as it was one of the best raid dungeons ever. Defeating Emp Ssra is one of the most exciting moments in the game, unfortunately you're rewarded with the crap fest that is Vex Thal. AAs were needed since classic to flesh out the different classes and give them unique abilities. EQ always felt extremely basic until you got the ability to work on AAs. The gap between tanks and non-tanks widened dramatically, rangers became useful ranged dps, wizards got neat tools that actually made them fun to play sometimes, etc. They tried to do this in Kunark with disciplines, but disciplines were implemented really poorly in the first place. AAs were a much better system.

Planes of Power, again, was a mixed bag. Plane of Knowledge was slightly game breaking in the same way the bazaar was, but worse. The raiding was top notch, except back flagging and an unfinished Plane of Time killed a lot of guilds. Amazing expansion once it was fixed up, though. AA system was fleshed out and made even better. If the main "hub zone" for this expansion was the Plane of Tranquility and the flagging/bugs were fixed, PoP would have been perfect.

All of these expansions were worth playing. After that, not so much. I started writing about LoY and LDON but I could go on and on with that and this is already extremely off topic.
