textures not quite right.

I have this problem where the textures in game don't look like they're supposed to. They seem to be smudgey and overly black in color with no definition. The world models (rock, walls, grass, etc) and I see it on other players character models but not my own. I cant get screenshots to upload atm , but am working so stay tuned on that but if you know this problem and can help I would be thankful for any input meanwhile.
