Id do shaman as a 1 class, because it checks off pretty heavy offensive caster gameplay, and the Armor is more fun to wear than caster gear, and they can heal if you want to form groups, and are overall great in group situations, but can aslo solo. And you can organize mini raids easily with them. So they offer the most gameplay IMO.

But Ranger is also an extremely fun class to no life forever and gear. The best low/med gear is pretty easy to get, so while you grind for the BIS gear you have a lot to collect. It's fun to slice and dice as a ranger while also being able to feel like a tank and be mobile for goofing off at 60 and spending all your time on.

Warrior is also a class that gets better over time so another good class to play exclusively if you had to play only one in your life.

Monk is also another extremely fun class to play, that feels like it has lots of ways to play to keep you engaged as 1 class.

Necro.

Can do pretty much everything and having rez/succor adds a lot of QoL.

And if you decide to gear towards bis it unlocks a whole new playstyle for them and you can cap it all off by being that ultra rare necro with an abashi.

Edit: if channeling/charm ever get nerfed then monk for sure

Does root rotting make you happy? Cuz my shammy grinding through lvl 58 right now and shit sucks. Any signs of a group forming up, even with people I know are annoying or it being crazy inefficient I'm jumping at the chance just to get away from the mind numbing root rot. Had a ton of fun on Shammy 1-55. But 55-60 making me regret I ever rolled one.
It’s a means to an end. It’s boring as hell, and on my third shaman I can’t stand to root rot for more than an hour at a time. Nets me about 5-7% exp per hour-long session depending where I’m at level 59. Permafrost, Howling Stones, KC Basement, the Hole, Plane of Mischief - all spots where this works well and all (except KC basement) have good ZEMs and net good exp

Duos, however, particularly with a monk are a blast. Duo with enc is also really fun

If you're going to be raiding and the Monk is geared, then I would say monk. Can do some things solo plus also be a very important contributor to a raid if you know what you're doing.

Takes 30 years to get BiS as a monk too . Especially when everyone in every guild has a handful of monk Alts

Enchanter. Bring all the tools to any party, bump the DPS with any charmed pet, and can solo if you like.

True, but fortunately most guilds will have loot restrictions on certain items where you have to utilize a character tagged as a current main or otherwise pay a premium on DKP for an alt. If you're pull teaming as a Monk, the loot policies are going to favor getting you the drop over someone gearing a Monk alt that they're going to port there to loot.

Damn guess I joined the wrong guild during my raiding time. Was very eager to play monk and pull on raids. Got really good in ToV, plane of hate, VP, etc. but stopped playing monk because I was losing bids to monk Alts

Yeah I've def seen set ups where you can tag, say, two characters as mains and there are "main only" drops. And if you swap out mains it either resets your DKP or you take a big deduction on your total.

Or "premium" items where it's either a large minimum of DKP or full DKP bids in order to discourage people bidding just for random alts that they barely play.

In any case, guild DKP policies seem to change like at least once a year or so to some degree.
