Earliest RPGs I can remember wasting time on rainy days would be a 3-way tie between Gold Box D&D Pool of Radiance game (1988), Ultima 3 (1983) on an Apple II C PC with the monochrome green tones monitor as well as the original Final Fantasy (1987) on Nintendo.

Favorite of all time is tough. Probably a tie between the original Fallout (1997) and Dragon Age (2009). They were slightly more mature in their content and felt like your decisions really had an affect on the story. In comparison, most of the JRPGs that were the most popular during the 90's/2000's seemed like a simple linear innocent plot much like going to Disney World and riding the Peter Pan ride by the time I was a teenager and older.

it would be a toss up for me between a few. The witcher 3 is a fantastic game. The first Dragonage is a masterpiece. Chrono Trigger, The Secret of Mana, and Zelda for SNES are also masterpieces. I bought the remastered Chrono Trigger and The Secret of Mana for pc and they both still hold up very well imo. If I had to pick one it would probably be Chrono Trigger but they are all so close.

Speaking of great single player RPGs. next weeks fre games frm epic has the shadowrun collection. Not only great RPgs in their own right, but also the early console RPGs, both the genesis and the SNES were great. Me and my friend used to constantly argue which was better back in the day on the bus haha.

Also speaking of RPGs, the fact that the new Baulders Gate will be turn based is a total let down and deal breaker for me.
