The cost of a degree just went up by 10 -20k because of this. As the gov backs more loans and loan "forgiveness" the institutions can just raise their prices knowing they will be paid by the gov.

How do you figure when the college already got paid. This was money students owe to the government and not the college.

But wait when the military pays for your away through college then the college can expect to get paid what they ask.

Quote:
Current Army policy limits TA to 130 semester hours of undergraduate credit or baccalaureate degree, whichever comes first and 39 semester hours of graduate credit or master's degree whichever comes first. The 39 semester hour limit applies to all credits taken after completion of a baccalaureate degree.
By that logic the cost of a degrees should SKYROCKETS when the military pays for all of it..
But the military tends to turn out more republicans than democrats. Some.. how... I don't think I see republicans changing this anytime soon. Other incentives would be best.

The government should be paying for students to go to school it shouldn’t be paying banks to pay students who don’t pay the banks back.

Why do you think the cost increases of higher education have tripled the rate of inflation over the last 40 years? When the gov subsidizes it, the price detaches from the market.

But you are not factoring in the science which shows doing this will help some students in dire need of help, they can save for a downpayment on a new home, new car(s), fresh clothing, eating out, gym memberships, additional education, child care and many other things that stimulate our economy. They all need help and I think you are simply looking at the glass half full.

Today, sir, you need to think about today.

Indeed, the price of everything goes up over time naturally through increases in demand. My point is that the price of college has tripled if things 40 years ago cost the same now.

If we are being selective about who gets the college tax dollars can we dig a little deeper and at least assign value to the degree?

Tax payers are funding some of the most nonsensical crap which adds zero value to the country and is probably a net negative. Some of the ideas are actually parasitic for example

There was a small "movement" for a time in the LGBT community called "queers for Palestine" The whole oppressed oppressor flowery marxism in college which often sees Israel as bad and those Palestinians as good because they are oppressed in which these members of the so called queers for Palestine forgot that Israel is the most accepting place in that entire area for gay people.

why does this critical theory nonsense have any federal backing at all?
