You picked a great class to play, as a cleric. This class is very slow starting out though, and without decent gears soloing is quite painful as a cleric. This is only going to exacerbate your frustrations.

At lvl 8 you get meditate which will quicken your mana regen, and by 14 you get Healing which other healers won't get till lvl 19. This makes you a far better healer and you should be able to find groups by this point.

If you plan to solo this class, it's very slow. I suggest you rolling another class to play when you cannot find a group on the cleric, soloing it will be miserable imo.
Thank you for your sage advice and thoughtful reply. It will all work out. I used to be a VERY good Cleric 15 years ago, and will eventually be again. I forgot so much, but I have been spending a great deal of time I could have been playing, and studying forums and websites. I used to have a really good book with lots of notes in it, but I think I may have left it in Alaska when I moved to Florida. So back to relearning everything the hard way, which, in the long run, will make me a better player, I think.

Yes, yes it will.

P99 wiki makes info gathering much easier than back in classic. I like that everything isn't presented to me in game with a glowing arrow pointing the way. Having to seek out information is part of the enjoyment/reward I get from the classic experience.
