Default Making pet sit while attacking

So the UI sometimes display the pet as sitting while it attacks.

It seems to me the pet doesn't take increased damage to its incoming hits, but does gain a regen bonus.

Am I mad or is this a thing?

I use /pet sit with charm pets to help even out hitpoints. My pet will take more damage from the other mob when sitting. I have never noticed any regen bonus.

You sure they take more damage? The reason I figured a pet loses a fight more in this situation is because he will not attack after told to sit still he gets swung at. So you potentially increase the delay between your pets melee rounds by making him sit every time he gets attacked.

Potentially, but have you actually seen this work? I've attempted to this, but from own experience it does not seem to actually delay your pet's melee rounds.[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I find the trick is to simultaneously back pet off and sit.

But this does in fact work because I do it daily. It also helps to time the enemy mobs swing with the sitting to create a rythmn where your pet sits exactly when the mob swings , I think mobs just have more hp so the max dmg swing is less than you expect

Didn't appear to when I tested it. Old bug report about it: https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...d.php?t=247356
