China is awesome. I buy everything off ali-express. I sent a prototype to a factory in Shenzen and they could produce it @ .15 per unit when places in the USA wanted 7.00+ per unit.
You can literally just buy a machine and start working there. "Hey want to work in my factory? I'll give you $4 a week" "yeah ok" DONE DEAL You have so much red tape in the USA. FYI almost anything produced is made in china, taiwan, or india, they ship it here, then they put it together and slap a MADE IN THE USA sticker on it. | ||

See, the forces not-alphys described above do way more damage to employment numbers than any "fuck the economy" button a president may have
As long as labor is exploitable somewhere, people are going to try to exploit it. And that's in the country that has made the greatest economic gains in a generation due to some abominable form of imperialist capitalist socialism. I paid taxes on every screw I sold for $15, so only really made a profit of $6 per screw, which was a lot. I've paid more taxes than I can even really deal with. I felt really and honestly raped when I broke into the higher bracket for a few years.
China, India, Taiwan, still have industry that allows people to freely sell their labor for an agreed upon price. There is no government oversight. You can just go somewhere and work, there is no background check, tax information, 401K you just work. Its impossible to beat that efficiency. They also work very hard. I was invited to visit the factory and it was a real blast. They just had a big pit in the back for all the industrial waste. Lots of people and their families lived on site and would burn plastic to keep warm. I kept giving people $1 bills as souvenirs and they were so amazingly excited. It is really the closest feeling I could imagine of being a celebrity, you are there, just being some random guy, and everyone is holding doors, opening doors, shutting doors for you. Driving you around. Just because you bought some screws. | ||
