blue players are just different kind of gamers more about collecting and socializing than competing or dominating
i can respect the pace they prefer to play the game at honestly and can see why red doesnt appeal to them

That's a pretty broad stroke.

I personally have done nothing but pvp on MMOs since I started on RZ, then SZ, then Zek.

I carried on with PVP gaming MMOs with WOW, eq2, WAR, and SWTOR.

The reason Red is't appealing is because it has no population. Any PVPer knows, without a population there's no PVP.

If I am going to a server for PVE, the population is the most important factor for me, just as it is for PVP.

Seeing the PVP server is quite honestly underpopulated, I am left with no option but to go to Blue P99 for PVE if I want to play Everquest Classic.

This is why I wouldn't be surprised if I run into more PVP being red on blue than I ever would on red in general... :P

You ever play swtor? Of all the MMOs I mentioned, WOW is the one I least played I tried it so many times and never could stick with it haha.

Sadly WAR is dead, loved it and the RVR so much fun! EQ2 I have no idea what's going on there now as I quit it ages ago...

The only modern MMO I played lately with PVP is swtor. You play it?

I've tried both red and blue. I prefer blue. But, here's my take on things:

Blue:

plus - you can go AFK, high population means plenty of grouping opportunities. Lots of play at all levels, not just at the high end. Foul language and rude behavior are not tolerated.

minus - camp disputes, level 60s hogging lowbie zones for cheap farming opprotunities, high end guilds blocking all raid/epic content

Red:

plus - exp bonus, camp disputes rare, one guild is geared to helping lowbies/newbies adapt and get geared. If you make it to high end, you can get top raid gear.

minus - all /ooc chat is serverwide and is typically extremely offensive, griefers who stalk other players, players killers especially hang out in zones where lowbies try to group and exp, once you hit 50, you will constantly get attacked anywhere you go. Forget ever going /afk

Analysis - if you like solo or casual play, blue is infinitely better. If you live primarily to raid, go red and deal with the occasional PK deaths.
