zodium is closer to the truth than the others yes. We have socialized frozen pizza flooding our stores selling under cost, which nobody has said a peeep about so far as I can tell. $2. That's the market holding this thing together, right?

PS the "socialism hasn't worked" thing is really really stupid and tired. "Socialism" layered over a market system, like Imperial Rome (very classically liberal), has a long history. Buying calm from the population has a long history. It's just a Joe Rogan line; it leads into shitting on brown countries so it feels good to say if you are maintaining a poorly-concealed racial animus. But it is meaningless. "Socialism" has been used as a standard tool of coercion in virtually every government since the word was invented. And before. -j
Market interventions are the fifth type of liberalism

I wish I wasn't mentally ill and disabled. But I am not going to engage on a full on assault with my betters because I want them handicap themselves to make things easier for myself or "fair".

None of that will better civilization which is the only thing that will outlive me.

My life and liberty is essentially meaningless if the cost is the obliteration of billions of proletarian.

Give me headpats for my virtuosity.

Yeah and the US has social programs, which I'm not opposed to, but they "work" due to the overwhelmingly capitalist architecture that funds them.

Gotta love the totally baseless assertions of racial animus and bigotry, can't have a proper discussion without those.

no dude, you are dead wrong. Socialism hasn't worked and there are no examples of it being implemented successfully. There are plenty of examples where socialism seemingly works on a small, almost tribal scale, but the second the sample size increases beyond peoples ability to check the people that are benefitting from said community, major issues arise.

By the way, the average Venezuelan lost 19 pounds in 2017, and it wasn't because they decided to count calories and switch to a plant based diet. We as Americans are so damn rich, we have the exact opposite problem.

What kind of goof even thinks the US is capitalist? Do you think fair competition really exists between big businesses and each other? Between big businesses and small businesses? Really, the USA is only capitalist in the sense that it is largely controlled by those who live off their wealth, and their capital controls large swathes of our economy and politics. Entire industries propped up by archaic laws and special interests, government-mandated monopolies layered upon monopoly-mandated governance.

Meanwhile, the working class, people like you (in this thread)-- and make no mistake, if you sell your labor to survive, you are working class-- get pitted against each other in the purest form of competition that actually exists in our system: labor vs. labor. Capitalist systems are designed such that wealth creates more wealth in an ever-recursive positive feedback loop. Hell, in the form of venture capitalism and 'angel investment', they even get a cut of and gatekeep every new idea and every innovation that enters the system.

It's really a pretty great paradigm if you're like me and were born rich and never really have to work for any other reason than personal development. Well, great in that people see merit where there isn't any and my inter-generational advantage is maximized. But fucking terrible in all other respects, because it's evil and unjust.

Again: If you sell your labor to survive, you are a peasant, and you are being exploited by capitalists. Those of you peasants who attack other peasants to defend capitalists are an extra layer of sad.
Give me a ten point plan bud. How would you fix it, bearing in mind our principal faults aren’t economic, they’re social. Declining marriage rates = halving your income voluntarily. Eating worse = having less years that are less healthy

I could go on, but I see the political and economic decline being related to social decay in terms of values. America is 40% obese. Capitalism didn’t fail us, we failed it

bread dole was wildly popular and stabilized the empire repeatedly. It was an excellent implementation of what I would call a social program, a program written by somebody doing a social collectivist thing. Idk based on this nonsequitur return to talking points I just kinda doubt we're going to talk about anything that hasn't been covered on Rogan word-for-word, so, well, best of luck. -j
