Int to mana bug?
I've been noticing int giving different amounts of mana above 220 int? Is there soft caps? I've not seen any info on that.
So I have a 49th level wizard, his current items he has 224 int, plus some mana add items for a total of 2351 mana. I take off the 5 int Mystic Cloak and my mana goes down to 2333. If I take off my loam encrusted sleeves adding 5 int, 5 mana, put on my embriodered black sleeves that gives me 25 mana add, so I'm at 219 int, putting me at 2353 mana. Then i take off my 5 int Mystic Cloak and my mana does down to 2323. So under 219 int the 5 int gives me 30 mana, but when I'm over 220 int, it only give me 18 mana! Thats a pretty big difference, I bought the Loam sleeves thinking they would give me more mana than my embroidered black sleeves, but my int so high it actually gives me less? How the hell am I suppposed to know if an item will increase my over mana like this? Are there more caps the higher your int goes? Decreasing the int per mana further?

Good eye. After 200 int you want to go harder on straight Mana over INT due to softcap

Yes, before the hard cap of 255, there is a soft cap of 200, beyond which there are diminishing returns. Past 200 int, the amount of mana you get per point of int gradually decreases. It becomes increasingly important to prioritize direct mana.
This isn't to say we should all keep our int at 200 and then go pure mana...for instance, 10 int would still give you more mana than 20 direct mana. It's more curved. The same applies to wisdom. This is pretty widely-known. It's common for people to recommend gradually shifting toward +mana items (or other stats, like hp and resists) as int/wis approaches 255. Some have told me 200 is also a soft cap for other stats, such as stamina->hp, but I have seen no evidence and I can't confirm this.

You guys need to read my post again. Ya there is a soft cap after 200 int, I'm saying there is another more severe 2nd soft cap at 220 int. Apparently not many people are paying attention to this. That's why I'm suggesting this could be a bug?
By my estimation before 200 int you get roughly 10 mana per int. Then at 200+ int (soft cap 1) you get roughly 6 mana per int. After 220+ int (soft cap 2) you get a measly 3.6 mana per int. Does anyone know if it gets any worse higher up? 230+, 240+, 250+ I would like to know before I try camping or saving for higher int items.( Already have 6 slots of pure mana adds.

not a bug and yes it gets worse further up
For sure - 200-255 could be looked at as a series of softcaps or breakpoints. And of course it will get worse farther up.
It's NOT just two formulae like this: 0-200 int: 10 mana per int or whatev 200-255 int: 6 mana per int It's more like: 0-200 int: 10 mana per int 200-210 int: good mana per int 210-220 int: some mana per int 220-230 int: meh mana per int 230-240 int: crap mana per int 240-255 int: barely any So after 200, it's kind of curved. I'm totally guessing on the breakpoints, but it sounds like you discovered one yourself.

Like, when they say "diminishing returns," they really mean it: diminishING. The mana-per-int gets worse and worse the more int you have over 200.

Ok, this might actually be a bug.
So I changed items around and I had 219 int, when I then added the Mystic Cloak 5 int item it gave me 18 mana. I changed items around again so that I had 220 int. Then with 220 int I added the Mystic Cloak 5 int item an it gave me 25 mana. Higher int but more mana per int? The mana added from int seems to be bugged. I noticed this screwy mana per Int on lower levels as well. I started making the assumption that Int from some items was somehow 'higher quality'. So items that had identical Int would not necessarily give the same mana per Int. Now I believe its the way the items stack an the over all effect when you hit certain levels if Int, which also changes depending on your current level.

Is this actually classic? I seem to recall the soft cap just massively reducing the effectiveness of a stat point, but the reduction was uniform all the way up to the hard cap.

Isn't mana displaying at all as a number a bug? Thought UIs only showed this later on live.
